ONE DAY... the RH Bill will be passed!

I would like to share the song "One Day" by Matisyahu to end this blog roll.

sometimes I lay
under the moon
and thank God I'm breathing
then I pray
don't take me soon
cause I am here for a reason
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
it's not about
win or lose cause
we all lose
when they feed on the souls of the innocent
blood drenched pavement
keep on moving though the waters stay raging
in this maze you can lose your way (your way)
it might drive you crazy but don't let it faze you no way (no way)
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
one day this all will change
treat people the same
stop with the violence
down with the hate
one day we'll all be free
and proud to be
under the same sun
singing songs of freedom like
one day x4
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

WHAT LEI THINKS...

The stand of my good friend Lei on the RH Bill.

"I find this 7-week blog about the RH Bill very knowledge-, reality- and factual-based. And upon accummulated research, I will not say I am a pro or an anti; I will not take sides. I have learned that until our nation is divided by this, we will not be able to uplift each other’s lives. In one networking company, their vision is to uplift one million lives at a time. But how do they do that? They simply extend a hand to members or employees who needs help. They do not leave the ‘losers’ or the less fortunate behind. The millionaires or the well-off always look back to where they came from and that makes them humble and down to earth. And I ask myself, why can we not be like that? We are so full of words; we always want to talk and talk without walking it. We do not realize that if we prolong this fight, we are delaying the help we could give to other people. Why does the word ‘cooperate’ and ‘compromise’ does not exist in us? Why do we always have to fight for things we know we would benefit in the future? Ask yourselves why. We are becoming close-minded to everything that is happening. We are wasting the opportunity that the Senate or the House is giving us – the opportunity to help amend the laws. We are always invited to listen to the hearing of laws but what we always do is insist what we want to happen. We always fight for the wrong reasons. Why not think about building a stable future – not only for us, but also for the next generations? We, Filipinos, are known for preserving our values. But why do those people who fight for it does not seem like good models? Yes, maybe I am pertaining to the Church; but it is true, right? They are known to be God’s instruments but why do they have the guts to bash people around, to threaten them? Where is the love they should be sharing? Come on guys think. We are not in the right state to fight for this bill. Why don’t the anti tell straight to the Congress to throw that bill and amend existing laws instead. This is no time for experimentation right. We are losing lives here. We should act quick! Meanwhile, the pros should be open to this suggestion, the pros should be the one to open a good and positive dialogue about this issue for I know they have all the means to explain the bill. We should know that initiative is the key. Let’s stop insisting on each other’s principles. We are all different people, we cannot change that. We just have to keep adjusting and cope with whatever’s here right now."

My classmate Lei and I have the same stand on the RH Bill. I think that she presented facts and arguments well about her side and was able to send out the message clearly.

FOR STEPHEN SI....

A fellow classmates point of view, Mr. Stephen Si. He is one of the people is who is for the RH Bill. A neutral stand he has when it comes on the topic of believing in God. He argued that people who do believe in our creator could sometimes be very confusing. I guess it would most probably be when someone takes the bible literally that would really cause plenty of doubt and confusion towards many people. I believe that the bible should not be taken literally because that it would lose the point and true meaning of anything that the it says there.

God asks us to think more deeply with his words so that we could fully understand his word. Much like when the bible says, (any versions: whether it is King James, New international version, NLT and etc) "be fruitful and multiply and increase your number" you cannot just go ahead having kids incessantly, without thinking further its responsibilities, the ones they will go through once they have a child. They ought to make sure that they are able to provide basic things for them their shelter, education and food. The fact that there are plenty of kids wandering around the streets show that our beloved country is not able to make parents more aware of their responsibilities.

“God gave us free will, so why not use that free will to decide for ourselves?”, he added. I will quote his one strong opinion about the Church’s beliefs.

“Another thing I’d like to seriously point out about the beliefs of the church is that most of the time, their own beliefs clash with one another. It doesn’t even make sense sometimes. Let’s give a hypothetical situation. Let’s say there is a family in poverty and they live in a slum area. They already have three kids which obviously more than they can afford. When asked, they prefer not to have another child. So how does that work? They’re married so they obviously have the right to have sexual intercourse. If they no longer want children they’re not allowed to have sex anymore? Doesn’t that also contradict their beliefs that married couples should be allowed to have sex as a symbol of their love?”

"“It’s not as simple as saying that just because we’re not overpopulated doesn’t mean people won’t starve.”

“Ang stupid talaga, sana wag nalang tayo magbulagbulagan sa reality eh. We really need that bill if not, people are not going to be disciplined. They would not have any information or guide on how they could survive their poor lives. Pag walang RH Bill, para narin natin tinanggalan ng chance makabawi sa life yung mga tao. God did not die for us to suffer more. His death saved us just like the crappy Church is teaching. Then why are we stopping the RH Bill. Sana dina madelay to. Come on people think! Wake up, this is reality. We are screwed up anyway why not face its consequences?"

LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS IF THE RH BILL IS PASSED. WHO KNOWS??

Patricia Natividad:

For me, the idea of RH bill is acceptable, provided there should still be balance and acceptance from both parties. If we are to say that the implementation of the RH Bill is to suppress or alleviate the growing population of our country, the Republic of the Philippines, then we might be missing the point. The RH Bill may be of help to this but I do not think that this is the answer or the solution to the prevailing and on going problem.

I think that the most rightful thing to do is to educate. Educate people from all walks of life, from all levels of education and all fields of the industry. Regardless if you can or cannot sustain or simply feed one family member. We should instill awareness in the minds of the Filipino people to start “family planning” especially, without any biases, to the illiterates or the uneducated for the very obvious reason that they do not know and because they do not know and they are not aware, they would not care. On another note, people from the middle to the higher classes do not give them any access to by pass and over look the system too, otherwise, they are also not being of any help to the program. In connection to that, since the lower classes do not have the sense of “responsibility”, if I may put that in quotation, they keep procreating, which is not a wrong thing to do, but they are not careful to what is ahead of them and these are the consequences to further poverty as more and more children are being added to their families, with a low paying job, sometimes even not so decent jobs just to try to sustain the family which leads to a growing population.

In conclusion, there really is nothing wrong in pro-creation, it was even commanded to us in the Holy Bible, “Go, therefore and multiply” but I also believe that the Lord commanded this within reasons and that is the reason why we have leaders and people in position to have these “reasons” be implemented.

I believe that my good friend Patricia presented really valid and concrete reasons too as to why the prolong reproductive health bill should be passed. Aside from being a firm believer too, it is actually the future of the coming generations that our leaders should be more aware of. If the cycle continues, the reproductive health bill being passed over and over again and nothing’s being considered as a solution for this problem then we would have a generation that will just get worse or remain the same. No change at all and as a third world country that is awfully tragic to settle for. Our country should aim high, this is one of the ways to solve the problem of poverty, lack of education, better health and finding jobs that will suffice for a good lifestyle. IMPLEMENT THE RH BILL NOW AND LET’S TAKE IT FORM THERE.

MEJ- ALL ABOUT THE RH BILL!

My sister Mej Del Rosario is all about the Reproductive Health Bill. In my interview with her she said that she was all about EDUCATION. She is one of the people who believe that the root of this problem is the lack of education. In reality, there are plenty of thirteen-year-old girls who get pregnant. These girls do not know that if they engage into sexual activities they would get pregnant. Hence, they do not know how difficult it would be and how life is.

“The thing is fine fine, overpopulation but what happens to the kind of kid they raise?”

Men and women who are in poverty are not very well privilege to get into good schools and have quality education hence the reason why they are not able to get jobs that pay well or enough. This has been the propelling system and cycle. She has also mentioned that it is true that the reproductive health bill targets the “youngsters” since their parents do not know well about sex education too! And the thing is, the reproductive health bill would not be presented in manner of making it a joke. It would be presented in the classroom just like any other science class they take. It is absolutely not going to be disgusting, provocative and informal. It would be explained like “this is the sperm and then when it meets the egg this happens” and that it is painful. Sex is part of the human body, it is but just right to be able to study things about it in school as well, much like the eye. Our country is so conservative to the point that it is very hard to distinguish what is sincere and not anymore.

However, she also says that she is not about the contraceptives (abortafficient), just take these kinds of contraceptives and put the education then that’s it! The only reason why it is taking this long is because they are talking so much about it, they arguments and reasons are becoming like a cycle- they just keep repeating the same old issues. They have also reached the point where in they have threatened the president of the country Noynoy Aquino to be excommunicated for the reason of him supporting this bill as well.

See if one would take the bible literally it going to be very difficult however, if you think critically about it when god said multiply he also meant that parents should be responsible for taking care of their child’s fundamental needs and holistic being. They ought to make sure that they are able to send their children to school, provide food and shelter for them and most especially raise them well as good citizens of their country. They cannot just go on having kids and let them wander off the streets because this is what is specifically happening in our country. Kids who belong to a poor family are starting to learn how to work, wash their clothes, carry boiling water for food and etc. THAT IS CHILD ABUSE! These kids should be playing around in a safe place and learning in school not working.

It is certain that the Reproductive health Bill is currently in Congress and has gone through plenty of discussions, debates and has been prolonged for the longest time. The Members of the BCBP and other concerned people in the country have decided to point out the this proposed bill has yet to be more known for others and realize its effects on the lifestlye of people, their faith, families, children and their future.

CONSPIRACY AGAINST LIFE is the main arguement of the bill. that is also the example of it. This is becoming subtly incessant on the value of sancitity of people's lives in this very generation. It seems as if there is a conspiracy going on that is in that is evolved in a "culture of death". This does not just damage our personal, family and community relations, but does distort our relationship with peoples and nations. This is considered a direct opposition to the culture of life.

THE FOLLOWING IS A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF WHAT THE BCPB OUGHT TO MAKE KNOWN...

"For a more detailed discussion of the various aspects of the Culture of Life, the Culture of Death, and other burning issues of the times (contraception, abortion, euthanasia, bioethics, health care, and sexuality concerns), read Evangelizing Presence: Caring for Life, a BCBP publication, authored by Nancy Russell Catan (BCBP Portal Editor), Fr. Pasquale T. Giordano, SJ, and Mitos Rivera. It is available at the BCBP National Office. Some of the salient features of the Culture of Death vs the Culture of Life are summarized in the following paragraphs.

The basic feature of this Culture of Death is the noticeable absence of God in a growing secular lifestyle, influenced by a flood of distorted and hedonistic values where pleasure is maximized and pain is minimized. Having and hoarding become more important than “being”. Sexuality is depersonalized and exploited. The so-called right of women to decide whether or not to kill their unborn child due to various reasons usually in support of their personal life-style is highlighted and the right of the unborn to its God-given life is being ignored.

This is the modern tragedy: the eclipse of the sense of God and man, and the resulting distortions wherein society refuses to accept and care for any life – the sick, the aged, the dysfunctional, the weak – that interferes with its “progress”. We are gradually but inexorably losing the sense of the sacred in our society.

Life as designed by God is always “a good”. It is the seed of an existence that transcends the very limits of time, for God himself has planted eternity in the human heart. Human life has always been sacred to God, and to proclaim Christianity is to proclaim life.

Therefore as a “people for life” we need to view life in its deeper meaning, and to look for God’s living image in every person, in the unborn person as well as in the birthed. By seeing Christ in every person we meet, we can experience a God-given, everyday – or we could say, an every-person – epiphany! This is the Culture of Life.

It is this Culture of Life that promotes and enables us and others to live in dignity and fullness of life. It is in embracing the Culture of Life that helps us build our families as the basic life unit of community and society. It is in strengthening this Culture of Life in our families that the integrity and sanctity of the family as the domestic church, the basic unit of Christian life and cornerstone of society, is truly realized.

Let us ask ourselves and answer sincerely and honestly from our hearts: Who am I, who are we, to arrogate ourselves equal to God by legislating whether a God-created, God-given life should live or die? The future of our society depends on the rediscovery of the innate human and moral values that promote and strengthen the Culture of Life. At the same time we need to fight against those values that promote the influence of the Culture of Death.

We urge you to familiarize yourselves with the various aspects and concerns surrounding the Reproductive Health Bill by reviewing and re-reading the ten news articles and two videos that have been posted on this website since September 2010."

WHAT THE CBCP THINKS!

Let us all pause for awhile with all the stands of the different people around my circle and get an insight from a member of the CBCP community itself. The editor's blog goes...

"The Reproductive Health Bill now in Congress has been the subject of discussions, heated arguments and lengthy position papers for many months. As BCBP members and concerned citizens, we must make it a point to know more about this piece of proposed legislation and how it would affect our lives, our faith, our families, our children and their future.

This Bill is, in the view of our faith, is a prime example of the “conspiracy against life” that is subtly encroaching on the sanctity of life in today’s milieu. This conspiracy takes the form of a “culture of death” and damages us not only in our personal, family, and community relations, but also distorts relations between peoples and nations. It is in direct opposition to the Culture of Life.
